About DMSF

Davao Medical School Foundation (DMSF) was established in 1976 in the urban centres of Mindanao to meet the demand of doctors in the regions. The College of Medicine of DMSF thus became the first medical college to be established in Mindanao

DMSF is ranked in the top six medical colleges in the Philippines and it is recognized by some of the highest Constitutional & Statutory bodies in the Philippines and some of the other parts of the world including India. Davao Medical School Foundation is recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI). Thus, Indian students can study medical courses at DMSF and later on practice in India after meeting the requirements.

Davao Medical School Foundation (DMSF) offers a Doctor of Medicine (BS+ MD) course to international students. It is a 7.5 years degree programme. BS (1.5 year) followed by MD (6 years).

The course is divided into the format BS+ MD as per the structure followed in the Philippines. The medium of instruction of study at Davao Medical School Foundation (DMSF) is English.

  • Eligibility Criteria to Apply for Doctor of Medicine (MD) Course at DMSF
    • An Indian student must have Class 12th from a recognised board and must have studied Biology at Intermediate Level.
    • Must have scored at least 50% marks in Class 12th
    • Must qualify NEET-UG for admission in BS course (BS+ MD)
    • After completing the BS course (1 year), the student will have to qualify NMAT (National Medical Admission Test) to get enrolled in further MD programmes.

    Opportunities for Indian Students After Studying the MD from DMSF

    Following are the opportunities available for Indian Students after completing the MD course from DMSF:

  • An Indian student who completes the 7.5 years Doctor of Medicine (MD) Course at DMSF can take the screening test in India to register with MCI. It is needed to practice medicine in India with a foreign degree.
  • Those who are successfully registered with MCI or the State Council of India can apply for government jobs
  • Students who wish to apply for licensure to practice medicine in the US can also appear in the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE).
