About China

Referred to as the People's Republic of China, it is the largest Asian country covering over 3.7 million square miles. It has the largest population of any country in the world. Among all other countries of the world, China is surpassed in area by only Russia and Canada. It is almost as large as the size of Europe. The current President is Xi Jinping since 2013. The capital city of China is Beijing.

China shares its boundary with many nations such as Mongolia, Russia, India, Myanmar, Kazakhstan, Nepal, North Korea, Vietnam, Tajikistan, Bhutan, Laos, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. The more significant part of the country has a mountainous region. Its principal ranges are the Tien Shan, the Kunlun chain, and the Trans-Himalaya. In the southwest is Tibet, which China annexed in 1950. The Gobi Desert lies to the north. China proper consists of three great river systems: the Yellow River, the Yangtze, and the Pearl River. Eligibility criteria for studying MBBS in China

Students from India must fulfill the below-mentioned criteria to apply for MBBS in China

  • Academic Qualification- The students can apply based on either Class 12 marks or NEET Eligibility.
  • 12th Class-Eligibility- The student must have passed Class12 with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) as the main subject. The student must have scored a minimum of 50% marks in these three subjects for General Category. For the reserved category, the student needs to achieve a minimum of 40% marks in PCB
    Note- The medical colleges in China have different eligibility criteria for various colleges. The percentage required varies from 50% to 80% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English.
  • NEET Eligibility- The student must have a valid NEET scorecard showing the qualified NEET score. Higher scores in the NEET examination makes the admission process more convenient in top colleges in China.
  • Age Criteria- The applicant should not be less than 17 years of age as of December 31st in the year of admission.

Total Cost of MBBS in China

The tuition fee cost is difficult to calculate for China as the fee structure varies as per the grading of Universities. The Universities in China are graded as A+, A, B+, B, etc. However, on average, students will have to pay approximately 20-35 lakhs to pursue MBBS in China depending upon the type of college selected.

Life After Completing MBBS from China

After doing the MBBS program from China, Indian students can choose multiple options. The students can either opt for higher education or can choose to practice in their home country. Different countries have their respective bodies that conduct specific tests to practice in the home country. The students can pursue higher education(MD) from the USA or Germany after completing MBBS from China. They can also apply for practice or further studies in the UK as well. It is essential for candidates to know how to get the license to practice in India.

Practice in India

As per the Medical Council of India (MCI), every student has to undergo a screening test conducted by MCI. Every student with a foreign MBBS degree must qualify the same to do an internship or practice in India. The screening test conducted by the Medical Council of India is also known as Foreign Medical Graduates Examination. It is a compulsory test conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) and is mandatory for all students to attempt this test. The MCI must recognize the college from where the MBBS degree has been awarded to the students. Only MCI recognized institute students could appear for the screening test.
