The Peoples’ Friendship University was founded on February 5th, 1960 by the USSR government. It is also known as RUDN university and this educational institution is located in Moscow. The purpose of founding this University was to provide quality education to Third World countries. The university was renamed as Peoples’ Friendship University in 1992 by the decision of the Government of Russia. In 1975, the University was awarded with the Order of Friendship of Peoples for its services in training specialists for Asia, Latin America, and Africa. The university also bagged UNESCO gold medal for its contribution to the training of personnel for developing countries of the world.

The University is centrally located in the capital city of Moscow. Eligibility Criteria for taking admission at Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia:

According to Graduate Medical Education Regulation Act, 1997 of the Medical Council of India, the minimum qualification required to take admission in any foreign medical institute are as follows:


  • The applicants must have completed a minimum age of 17 years on or before December 31st on the year of admission to the MBBS course.
  • The applicant must have completed XIIth examination from a recognised board with minimum 50 percent marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The student must have studied English as one of the subjects.
  • The student must have a valid NEET scorecard with an eligible score.
