I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University is the first and the oldest University of Russia. It is known by multiple names, such as Sechenov University, First Moscow State Medical University (MSMU), and Moscow Medical Academy. Founded in 1758 as medical faculty of Imperial Moscow University, the institution got separated and became independent in 1930 from Moscow State University. It was renamed in 1955 after Russian physiologist Ivan Sechenov.

Sechenov University is renowned as it is the oldest and has a strong alumni base. The University, in the current scenario, has 19030 students from 83 countries of the world. The University offers 226 educational programs from 11 study areas. There are 15 research institutes of Biomedical Science & Technology Park.
